Rio Lombana

. . . writes from Seattle, where they like to hike in the dry season and train martial arts while it rains. Raised in the Carolinas in the Southern Baptist church, they are the apostate eldest daughter of a Latina mother and a white father.

Rio’s work has been featured in Reactor’s Short Fiction Spotlight and reviewed by Locus Magazine. They’re a Viable Paradise ‘25 alum, an NYC Midnight contest winner, a full member of SFWA and Codex, and a part of the Apex Magazine editorial team.

Rio has a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington and an M.S. in Technical Communication. They’ve worked full time as a technical writer and editor for over a decade, and coauthored a nonfiction book on technical writing in enterprise software.
